Lindsey Snyder is ready to try something new with her NH Boutique.
Since launching the “size inclusive” women’s clothing business in 2019, she has operated it out of a basement, garages and even on a bus for a time.
Now she’s ready to open the doors of her own 1,300-square-foot Rochester storefront at 1827 S. Broadway.
“We have grown to the point that women wanted more hours to shop,” said Snyder. “We thought opening a store would take NH Boutique to the next level.”
The plan is to host a grand opening for NH Boutique, next to Best Price Inn hotel, on Aug. 28.
Snyder, a single mother who struggles daily with pain due to injuries from a car accident, sees NH Boutique as much more than just a clothing store.
“We are trying to build a community of women that uplift each and support each other,” she said. “We’re trying to help improve women’s confidence and help them feel better about themselves.”
The boutique offers a variety of clothing in a larger range of sizes than the average store carries.
In addition to the brick-and-mortar store, NH will continue online shopping through its website, its associated app and via live streamed video sales.
While keeping a fledgling business afloat has been challenging, Snyder said thinking of her 13-year-old daughter Nevaeh, the store’s namesake, plus the growing community of women inspire her to push on.
“My daughter is what keeps me going… And I am making a positive impact in other women’s lives,” she said. “We can always preserve and push through. You can do anything you set mind to.”
