Charter Spectrum reported sporadic internet outages throughout much of Minnesota, including the Rochester area, on Wednesday afternoon.

"Spectrum services in Rochester and other Minnesota markets have been impacted by third-party damage to our fiber-optic network," wrote Spectrum Public Relations representative Kimberly Noetzel at 4:45 p.m. "Our teams are on site and working to restore service as quickly as possible, and we appreciate our customers’ patience as we make the necessary repairs."

Minnesotans on social media reported problems in Rochester, Red Wing, Duluth, Owatonna, Mankato and Brainerd.

All services were restored as of 5 p.m., according to Noetzel.

The company’s outage map marked reported trouble areas with red, with much of Minnesota covered as well as parts of Wisconsin and Illinois.
