Time for the celebrations to begin

Tis the season for fall festivals, and none come bigger than Oktoberfest. Read on.

Oktoberfest begins

The Boston Globe's "Big Picture" features Oktoberfest, noting "Saturday, September 18th, with the tapping of the first keg by Munich Mayor Christian Ude and a cry of "O'zapft is!", Oktoberfest 2010 officially started in Munich, Germany. It's a good pictorial. You should check out the pictorial feature regularly of so many events. It's done well.

Countdown to Christmas

For your Christmas shoppers, here's your counter. We love to note how many days until the big holiday, so here's your option. Short, sweet and gets you what you need.

Phone book helper

Here's a sort of Yellow Pages for how to get get off the delivery list of phone books. Some folks don't want them or they just want one. So here is the clearing house to learn how to say "no" to phone books.

Counting the days

Counting the days to a big event? I was counting down the days to Election Day. At the time I write this, it's 40 days. But whatever you're counting down, here's a quick way to get the numbers to add up right. Once I get past 10 fingers, it gets a little dicey. So give it a shot. Easy way to look smart.

Government access

This is a pretty good site I stumbled into looking for a Congressional map. It's got so much more information about Congress, including bills and activities of your favorite or not so favorite lawmakers in Washington, D.C. Give it a look.
