Charles R. Bradford, 80, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, surrounded by family.
Charles was born in the Berne area on July 18, 1930, to Howard and Inda (Geise) Bradford. He graduated from Mantorville High School. Charles married Betty Lewis on Dec. 30, 1950, in Mantorville. He worked for American Linen, Patterson Quarries, and was a 33-year employee of the Dodge County Highway Department where he retired as foreman.
Charles was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate in athletics and activities. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Mantorville.
Charles is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; three sons, Michael (Ann) Bradford of Mantorville, Matt (Andrea) Bradford of Kasson and Mark (Marilyn) Bradford of Hampton, Va.; and one daughter, Cathy (LuVerne) Vangness of Mantorville. He is also survived by his mother, Inda Bradford; one brother, Philip Bradford of Kasson; and three sisters, Rose Unger of Kasson, Ruth Head of Mantorville and Rita Kruesel of Rochester. He also has eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; as well as 14 great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Howard Bradford and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at the First Congregational Church, 515 Walnut Street in Mantorville, with Pastor Brian Egelston officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Dibble Funeral Home, 213 W. Main St. in Kasson, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. There will be no reviewal at the church.
