Details for NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
Blue Horizon Farms is proposing to construct a 110 x 120 total confinement barn to house 160 dairy heifers and a liquid manure storage area with a capacity of approximately 1 million gallons. The existing facility is located in Olmsted County, Farmington Township, Section 33, NE 1/4. The existing facility consists of 262 animal units or 180 dairy heifers, 80 dairy steers and 80 dairy steer feeder cattle housed in total confinement barns. Manure at the facility is currently stored as bedding pack and in an existing 30 x 35 x3 liquid manure storage area. The total animal units after construction will be 754 animal units or 490 mature dairy cows, 80 dairy heifers and 140 dairy calves.
