  • Thousands of winter sports enthusiasts from Minnesota and adjoining states are expected to gather for the St. Paul Victory Carnival opening, a 13-day festival planned to celebrate winning the war. Miss Donna Osterberg, Rochester’s Snow Queen, will attend a number of the events.
  • Miss Cecelia Ledige, educational director of the Rochester State Hospital, spoke of her experiences as a group of doctors and nurses who operated a hospital in New Guinea at a meeting of the Kahler-Alumnae.

1921 — 100 years ago

  • The Bach Music Co. has announced Mrs. Charles Webb as the winner of the record-counting contest. The show window of the store was piled high with records. The exact number was 209, and Mrs. Webb guessed 210.
  • Physical examinations will be conducted at no cost for former service members and war veterans at the YMCA.
