1995 – 25 years ago
Henry Boucha was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth, Minn., 26 years after becoming a legend in the Minnesota High School State Hockey tournament in 1969 as he led the Warroad High School team.
Now that the old Rochester public library has been vacated, the city will sell the former department store. The buyer has told city officials he will spend up to $2.5 million remodeling the building into retail and office space.

Former Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey launched a political comeback by winning Minnesota’s Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate.
1945 – 75 years ago
The Army has streamlined procedures for medical officers and nurses to get out of the service and an estimated 13,000 doctors, 25,000 nurses and 3,500 dentists will be back in civilian life by Jan. 1, 1946.
At a meeting of all the classes in agriculture in the Rochester junior and senior high schools, a Rochester chapter of Future Farmers of America was organized.
1920 – 100 years ago
Preparations and planning for returning bodies of American soldiers who fell on battlefields or died on French soil are moving forward.
More than 350 surgeons and doctors from all over the country, including a large delegation from Rochester, attended a three-day conference of the American Roentgen Ray Society in Minneapolis. The Rochester delegation left on a special train to Minneapolis.
