Steve Alger, Kenyon coach, joined a shortlist of Minnesota girls basketball coaches with 300 victories. He reached the milestone when the Kenyon-Wanamingo team beat Triton 49-36.
Radon test kits for use in the home are now available from the Minnesota Public Research group for $7 each.

“Take the Handcuffs Off the Police” was the title of the talk by a retired officer of the Detroit Police Department. The program was part of the “Support Your Local Police” program.
The Rushford Jaycee’s presented Rudolph Boyum, Peterson area farmer, the Outstanding Young Farmer Award. Boyum operates a 596-acre dairy, hog and beef farm with his brother, Robert.

After an interval of 10 years, Harold R. Cooke again will be the director of the Rochester Municipal Band.
The Rochester High School wrestling team scored a 22 to 14 victory over Albert Lea, marking the second triumph for the Rockets over the Tigers this season.

Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Kahler were host and hostess to about 150 friends at a dance and party at Hotel Zumbro.
Ice harvesting in Rochester will get underway next week. The average thickness of the ice is about 18 inches.
