Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Byron, Minnesota will meet at the City Hall located at 680 Byron Main Court NE in the City of Byron, Minnesota at 6:00PM on May 12, 2021 to set the final assessment roll for the following improvements, 2021 Street and Utility Improvement Project.
The project includes: Reconstruct Byron Avenue (Frontage Road to 4th Street) and improve sidewalks and utilities. Update sanitary sewer, watermain and storm sewer on Byron Avenue (from 6th Street to 7th Street). Reconstruct 2nd Street NW (Byron Avenue to 2nd Avenue) and improve sidewalk and utilities. Reconstruct 1st Avenue NW (from 2nd Street to end of street) and improve sidewalk and utilities.
The total cost of said improvements is $2,476,761.80.
Deferment may be considered for senior citizens or other citizens that can meet hardship requirements.
The city is required by law to offer a public hearing when using assessments as part of funding a project. As we attempt to meet those requirements and following the guidelines of Executive Order 21-19; which limits group sizes and requires social distancing, we are offering the following:
1. If you provide us your email address, we will email the presentation to you on May 7th. The presentation will include project information. If you have questions or concerns we offer to answer those via email or phone prior to the meeting.
2. We will have a conference call available for you to watch and/or listen to the meeting from your home. Please provide the city with your email address and we will send an invite for you to remote in for the meeting.
3. If you want to attend the Public Hearing in person, the Council Chambers will be set-up with less seating to maintain appropriate spacing following social distancing guidelines from the Center for Disease Control. We ask that you consider limiting it to one member of your property when attending. We will limit the number of people in the Council Chambers to follow social distancing guidelines. If we exceed the capacity of the Chambers, we will repeat the information for others waiting outside of the Chambers. If you plan to attend in person; please call to reserve a seat.
