NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
Notice is hereby given that the Olmsted County Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 in the Council/Board Chambers of the Government Center, 151 4th Street SE, Rochester, MN for the purpose of considering the following petitions:
Olmsted County Variance #O2021-001VAR by Mike Hinrichs to the two (2) acre lot minimum for parcels in the Rural Service District. An approved variance is required for the future application of a metes and bounds to create two (2) 1/2 acre parcels from the existing three parcels. There exist two building sites currently, however a lot line shift via metes and bounds application would require the newly created lots to meet the two (2) acre lot minimum without this variance. The parcels are located in the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 11 in Marion Township south of Chester Heights.
Olmsted County Variance #O2021-002VAR by Robert Thomson. The request is for a variance to the maximum allowable total square footage for detached accessory structures on a property less than one (1) acre in size in the R1 District. The maximum allowable square footage for this property would be a cumulative 1,000 square feet, the applicant is proposing a new 1,500 square foot detached accessory structure (garage) bringing the total square footage of detached structures on the property to approximately 2,200 square feet. The property is located in the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 21 in Marion Township at 3672 Palm Ln SE.
