The Salvation Army, in partnership with Hy-Vee, plans to distribute “Easter In a Bag” for Easter dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 1, (or until all bags have been distributed) at its Corps Community Center, 20 First Ave. NE., Rochester.
The program has 400 baskets available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each bag includes a certificate to Hy-Vee for a ham or other meat item, a dozen eggs, dinner rolls, yams, a bag of marshmallows, two cans of vegetables, and Jell-O. The bags will also include an egg dye kit and Easter candy.
“Easter is such an important celebration within our faith, and we don’t want anyone to struggle to put together a celebratory meal for themselves or their family, especially when we can do something like this to make it that much easier,” Salvation Army Maj. Lisa Mueller said.
