The Otto Bremer Trust awarded $530,000 to southeastern Minnesota organizations this spring and summer.
In May, the trust awarded $100,000 to Intercultural Mutual Assistance Association of SE Minnesota, Inc. , Rochester, for general operations and to expand its services for immigrants and refugees; $75,000 to Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (Saint Paul) for reproductive health education programs and outreach to community members in Rochester and Mankato; and $100,000 to Zumbro Valley Health Center, Rochester, for the development of an integrative medicine program.
In August, the trust awarded $75,000 to Bear Creek Services, Rochester, for general operations providing support services to those with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries; $30,000 to Exercisabilities, Rochester, for general operations providing specialized physical activities for those with physical and intellectual disabilities; $60,000 to Mower County Seniors, Austin, for general operations serving senior citizens in Mower County; $40,000 to Southeast Service Cooperative, Rochester, to engage students in opportunities to explore careers and develop a workforce talent pipeline for Southeast Minnesota; $10,000 to Sports Mentorship Academy, Rochester, for general operations reducing disciplinary disparities among Black male youth; and $40,000 to Winona Volunteer Services, Inc. for general operations providing basic needs for Winona County citizens.
