Diana M. Dotzenrod Kerns-Fitch, of Mabel, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel.
Diana was born June 29, 1942, in rural Fillmore County, to Clair and Doris (McCarty) Dotzenrod. She completed elementary and junior high school in rural Fillmore County and received her high school diploma at the University of Minnesota Southern School of Agriculture in Waseca. Diana married Lynn Kerns and three sons were born to this union. They later divorced. She moved to California and on Dec. 11, 1988, was married to Roy Fitch. In 1991 she received a degree from the Santa Jecinto California Community College. Diana and Roy moved back to the Burr Oak, Iowa, Canton, and Mabel area to be closer to her family.
She was a member of the Canton-Scotland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her kids and grandchildren and their sporting and school events, selling Avon and Tupperware, helping
with church activities, collecting coffee mugs, sewing, the Prosper Neighbors Club, and volunteering at Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel and Canton Presbyterian Church.
Diana is survived by her husband, Roy of Mabel; three sons, Brad (Barb), Brian (Lorie) and Devry (Tina), all of Canton; seven grandchildren, Cassie (Justin) Olson of Mabel, Jordan (Katie) Kerns of

Preston, Kayla Kerns (Nick Nichols), Alixandra, Kaysie, Dustin and Brenden, all of Canton; four great-grandchildren, Alaina, Jackson and Alyvia Olson, and Taelynn Kerns; step-children, Jaceil Easton, Roy Fitch II, Andrea North and Raymond Fitch, as well as their children and grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Dennis (George Dodd) of Eden Prairie and Phyllis Dotzenrod (Dan Ahlstrom) of Kulm, N.D.; and two brothers, Ronald (Beverly) Dotzenrod of Rochester and Meridith "Mike" (Madhavi Bradord) of Darlington, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clair and Doris Dotzenrod; step-mother, Helen Dotzenrod; and step-son, Eric Fitch.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Canton–Scotland Presbyterian Church in Canton, with Rev. Allen Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel, and one hour prior to services at the church.
