Douglas John Ocheltree, 67, of Rochester, passed away on Feb. 2, 2011, at St. Marys Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on Dec. 9, 1943, in Richfield, Minn., to Loren and Hedvig (Svitak) Ocheltree.
Douglas graduated from Richfield High School and the University of Minnesota. He moved to Rochester and taught English and speech at Mayo High School. For the last 20 years, he worked at Andy's Liquor Store where he could share his love and appreciation of wine with others. Douglas and Susan Nemoede were married on July 12, 1968, in Rochester.
Survivors include his wife; his mother-in-law, Edna Nemoede of Rochester; his sisters-in-law, Ann (Tom) Schwalen of Rochester and Bonnie Denzer of Utica, Minn.; his nephew, Edward (Susan) Denzer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his niece, Theona Denzer of Utica, and his great-nephew, Charles Denzer. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sharon and his brother, David.
A memorial service will be held later this month. Memorials can be directed to the family.
