Funeral services for Evelyn M. Kahl will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at the United Church of Grand Meadow with the Rev. Karen Ashton officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow.
Evelyn Kahl, age 81, of Grand Meadow, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at the Grand Meadow Health Care Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Grand Meadow to Kenneth and Loretta (Frankson) Cardinal. She attended Grand Meadow Schools and was united in marriage to Calvin Kahl on Aug. 6, 1947, at the home of her grandfather, O.K. Cardinal, in Grand Meadow.
Evelyn was a homemaker; she enjoyed painting, doing crafts, cooking and canning. Evelyn was also a talented seamstress; she was able to make wedding dresses for her daughters along with many other clothing items.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Miland of Spring Valley, Rose (Ed) Ackermann of Grand Meadow, Lori (Curt) Unverzagt of Brownsdale and Larry Kahl of Grand Meadow; eight grandchildren, David (Diane) Miland, Kenneth (Melanie) Miland, Philip Miland, Sheldon Miland, Mary (Jim) Borgschatz, Carla Hilton, Kristina (Burton) Foote and Matthew (Sara) Unverzagt; 11 great-grandchildren, Samantha Miland, Logan Miland, Grant Borgschatz, Riley Borgschatz, Kaitlyn Hilton, Grace Hilton, Wyatt Miland, Taylor Miland, Allie Miland, Addison Foote and Kellan Unverzagt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Kathryn Vogelsang.
