Jack Colette and Benjamin Rosengard delivered run-scoring doubles and Jason Swan capped off the four-run first inning with a two-run home run, and that was all the Honkers needed as they cruised to a 6-1 win over Eau Claire.

Rochester smacked 13 hits and every single hitter in the lineup got in on the fun with at least one hit. Swan continued his torrid stretch with a 2-for-5 showing. Rosengard and Zach Cole also had two hits.

All the offense was more than enough for Rochester ace Brant Alazaus. The lefty fired five innings of three-hit ball, allowing just one earned run and striking out seven. Patrick Williams and Jay Thompson combined for four innings of scoreless relief as the Honkers improved to 21-24.

The four-run first inning gave Alazaus a big cushion and he was able to bounce back in a big way after giving up eight runs against Waterloo on July 12. Alazaus improved to 4-2 this season and he's struck out 49 hitters in 46 2/3 innings.

Mike Bolton Jr. delivered a sacrifice fly in the eighth and Zach Cole delivered a clutch two-out, RBI single to give the Honkers a 6-1 lead but the Honkers pitching staff was never really in much danger all night long. Rochester didn't walk a single Eau Claire hitter and Alazaus, Williams and Thompson combined to punch out nine.

The Honkers will be off until Thursday for the All-Star break. They'll host La Crosse on Thursday at 6:35 p.m.
