CAROL WALDEE has been appointed human services representative for Tuohy Furniture Corp. in Chatfield. Previously personnel coordinator at Lakeside Packing, she will assist Tuohy's personnel chief in developing employee programs.

RANDY KAHL has been named to the position of postmaster at the Chatfield Post Office. Kahl, who began his postal career in Goodhue in 1973, is also currently postmaster trainer for southeastern Minnesota.


DANIEL CARROLL of Dodge Center has been named a National Distinguished Junior Member by the Holstein Association. He is one of six junior members of the association honored with the designation. Carroll, a student at the University of Minnesota-St. Paul, is vice president of the Minnesota Junior Holstein Association.

ANN KLAUSE has retired from her post as clinical dietitian after 36 years at the Mayo Clinic. She began her career in Texas and worked for two years at Colonial Hospital in Rochester before joining the clinic in 1950. She specialized in geriatric nutrition.

JILL FRIEDERS has joined the staff of O'Brien, Ehrick, Wolf, Deaner &; Maus to head the Rochester firm's family law department. She has been an active family law attorney in Minneapolis since 1984, and was a member of the family law committees of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers and the Hennepin County Bar Association.

Two local science teachers attended a National Science Foundation workshop at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. DARCY BUNTROCK of St. Charles and SHELDON ELSETH of John Marshall High in Rochester were among 43 teachers from across the nation who were selected for the workshop. The session provided training to relate science to modern issues in society.

Sea N Ski, located in the Holiday Inn Downtown, is a full-service real estate brokerage focusing on recreation properties. Owner/broker MICHAEL BRIESE said as a member of Minneapolis-based Vacation Properties Network, the firm will have access to buyers and sellers of real estate across the country.

Nelson was also among three territory managers who received the Ring of Excellence Award from the company.

FRED P. CARLSON has received the Academy of General Dentistry's Fellowship Award in recognition of his continuing professional education. About one percent of the academy's membership earns the award each year. Carlson has a private practice in Rochester.

MICHAEL GREGERSON, a former Rochester resident, has been elected vice president of division operations for Northern States Power Company-Wisconsin. He was formerly director of customer operations for NSP-Minnesota.

BILL and MARY SHEEHAN and MATT and JULIE BORST, all of Rochester, have been recognized by Farmland Industries Inc. for outstanding milk production with their Holstein herds in 1989. Both couples maintained production from their cows that ranked them in the top five percent of Holstein herds nationwide.

SUSAN HOVELL, assistant cashier and assistant manager of the mortgage loan department at Merchants National Bank of Winona, has been elected vice president of the State of Minnesota Council of Financial Women International Inc. She will also serve as the state group's president in 1991-92. The national group is the largest organization of financial executives in the world, with over 27,000 members.

TOM SLAGGIE, mayor of Winona, was elected vice president at the annual meeting of the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities. Morrie Lanning of Moorhead was chosen president at the gathering.

SHERI J. CRANDALL has been named head of the Design and Merchandising Department of The Winona Knitting Mills Inc. She will be responsible for developing new design ideas and prototypes.

LARRY E. KENDRICK and DENNIS ELLEFSON have purchased Century 21 Property Shoppe in Winona, changing the firm's name to Century 21 Golden Globe Inc. The real estate company will retain the staff of nine agents.
