ROCHESTER — Irene Mae Bierbaum, 86, died on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Samaritan Bethany Heights.
Irene was born in Elgin on Aug. 1, 1924, to Louis and Mae Emma (Stahl) Bruemmer. She attended the Minnesota School of Business and worked as a secretary at Mayo Clinic for 42 years. Irene married Leland Bierbaum on June 9, 1957. She was a longtime member at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester.
Irene was a very devoted sister and wife. Irene was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a caregiver to many and always gave fully of herself to others.
Irene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Leland of Rochester; a sister, Dolores Bierbaum of Rochester; and a nephew, Kenneth (KayAnn) Bierbaum of Rochester.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents; and a niece, Janice Bierbaum.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Christ United Methodist Church (400 5th Ave. S.W.), with Rev. Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
