Joanne (Schuchard) and Francis Appel were married on May 2, 1951 at St. John's Catholic Church in Rochester, Minnesota.
They were high school sweethearts and dated for six years.
They have 7 children: David (Pat) Appel; Paul Appel (deceased); Geri (Al) Kasper; Lisa (Jeff) Sprick; Curtis (Nancy) Appel; Therese (Ed) Appel- Jacobs; and Amy (Pete) Appel- Anderson, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 stepgrandchildren.
Francis is retired from Appel's Service of Millville after 60+ years, and Joanne is a retired homemaker.
A small family gathering will be held at a later date.
