Josephine M. Forcelle, 93, of Austin, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at her home.
Jo was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Hampton, to Mathias and Catherine (Tix) Rech. She grew up in Faribault and later met Emery J. Forcelle. On Aug. 29, 1940, she and Emery were united in marriage. The couple moved to Austin. Emery preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1993.
Jo was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church in Austin. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending family activities, playing cards and visiting with her many friends.
Survivors include her two sons, Donald Forcelle, Blooming Prairie and Marvin Forcelle, Rochester; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with Father Jim Steffes and Father Richard Loomis officiating. There will be a 6:30 p.m. wake service on Wednesday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, where friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and also one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Austin.
