Joyce E. Meisch, 84, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, went to her heavenly home Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at the Marion Home in Ft. Dodge, Iowa.
There will be a visitation at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home in Fort Dodge on Saturday, Nov. 26, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5 p.m., with the Rev. Allen Henderson, Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Winona, at Woodlawn Cemetery.
She was born May 17, 1927, in Buffalo County, Wisconsin, to Irvin and Ella Buchholz - Mosiman. She married Gene Meisch on Feb. 14, 1947, in Billings, Mont., and they made their home for most of their lives in Altura. After their retirement, they moved to Brainerd where they made their home for several years. After some time in Rochester, they finally made their home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Joyce is survived by her husband Gene; three daughters, Zinda (Michael) Bartz of Tucson, Ariz., Zandra Kessler of Rochester and Darcy (Dr. Michael) Lee of Fort Dodge, Iowa; one son, Gregory (Carol) Meisch of Franklin, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Bitzer of Martinez, Calif.; and one brother, Lynn Mosiman of Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Milder Mosiman.
Joyce considered herself a gypsy and enjoyed traveling. She and Gene traveled to see their children and grandchildren across the U.S. and Canada. They also toured China and Europe, and cruised to Alaska, Australia and New Zealand. She was a beautiful seamstress and crafter. She could hardly get one project done before starting something new.
