LANESBORO — One of the area’s longest-running art fairs returns when the 39th annual Art in the Park will be held Saturday at Sylvan Park in Lanesboro.

There will be 90 fine art and craft booths set up in the park, featuring painting, photography, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, stained glass, sculpture and pottery available for viewing and purchase.

Live music starts at 10 a.m. with the Galactic Cowboy Orchestra, followed at 12:30 p.m. by Joyann Parker and at 3 p.m. by Jaedyn James & the Hunger.

Local food booths will include Norwegian meatballs and gravy hosted by Lanesboro Arts. Other offerings will include fresh pie, smoked chicken and pulled pork sandwiches, as well as local craft beers.

Kids activities include a variety of art projects.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Willy Porter set for Crossings show

ZUMBROTA — Milwaukee-area singer/guitarist Willy Porter will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Crossings at Carnegie, 320 East Ave., Zumbrota.

Porter has been performing and recording since the late 1980s, and has played across the U.S., Canada and Europe. His most recent album is “Bonfire to Ash,” with longtime collaborator Carmen Nickerson.

Among Porter’s social justice efforts, his benefit concerts have raised $100,000 for a shelter and treatment facility for victims of violence and abuse, located in Mequon, Wis.

Grey Minnow vintage show coming to Austin

The first Grey Minnow Vintage and Handmade Revelry will be held Friday and Saturday at the Mower County Fairgrounds in Austin.

The event showcases local food vendors, garden florals, arts and crafts, and live music.

Grey Minnow was founded in 2017 by Katie Stromlund and Kristy Rooney, who wanted to create a vibrant summer marketplace.

Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Early bird admission (10 a.m. to noon Friday) is $10. General admission is $2.

‘Back Fence’ show heads for Broadway

LANESBORO — The “Over the Back Fence” variety show pays tribute to show business with a theme of “On Broadway” at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the St. Mane Theatre, 206 Parkway Ave. N, Lanesboro.

Host Damon Prestemon will lead the cast, which includes musical guest The Burke Band, from Winona. Also performing will be vocalist (and lover of show tunes) Maria Klingsheim.

Pre-show music starts at 7:15 p.m.

Tickets are $10, available in advance at the Lanesboro Arts gallery, online at lanesboroarts.org, and at the door.
