Minnesota Public Radio is now accepting submissions for the 2020 Minnesota Varsity talent showcase.

This is the 10th season for the program, which seeks to find and present talented young classical music musicians and composers. Instrumentalists, vocalists and composers ages 14 to 18 are eligible. Students submit a solo or ensemble recording of an instrument or vocal performance of a classical or musical theater work.

As many as 15 students will be selected for the Featured Round, and will make a professional recording at the MPR studio in St. Paul. That recording will be available for streaming online, and will be heard on Classical MPR stations.

Young composers will work with an assigned partner from the American Composers Forum to polish their composition.

The Minnesota Varsity program culminates with a live performance and radio broadcast in May.
