Rochester woman featured on Playboy cover

Jessica Zelinske

Jessica Zelinske, 31, of Rochester, not only has the look to make the cover of the new issue of Playboy, which is out now, but also the attitude.

"I've always had the confidence to do crazy things like this," she said.

So she followed her long-time dream and went to a Playboy casting call in Chicago last April, where she was one of 418 aspiring models.

"When I heard the numbers, I was thinking this isn't good," she said.

She decided to just be herself and go for it.

"I didn't want to claim to be something bigger than I am," she said.

Zelinske immediately caught the attention of the casting directors, who brought her to the Playboy Enterprises office to sign a contract right then. A month later she was called in for her first photoshoot.

While she's done some modeling before, including a shoot for Maxim magazine in 2006, some runway shows in Rochester, including the Downtown Fall Fashion Show and the Wedding Expo, and some promotions for mixed martial arts, this was the biggest shoot she's done.

She credits Playboy for making her feel comfortable.

"Before the photo shoot, they consult with you about what you like," she said. "They want to make sure everything they do is what you want."

And although she's never been married, she is featured on the cover and in a six-page spread inside the September-October "Hot Housewife" issue. She was happy, however, to be listed as a "Hot Mama."

"My daughter is my whole world," she said about her 7-year-old daughter. "I like the fact I am a mom. I do not hide that."

She was, however, slightly embarrassed to be asked for her autograph when she went to Barnes and Noble to purchase an issue.

"It was definitely weird," she said. "I haven't practiced my signature."

The attention, however, is just beginning.

Zelinske is also filming the finale of "Bad Ass" for Playboy TV to air in September and will attend a Playboy golf event in Des Monies, Iowa, to promote the magazine.
