United Way of Olmsted County promotes volunteerism in southeastern Minnesota through our Get Connected online tool. On Saturday, June 22nd, we will host the annual Walk Around the World at RCTC Regional Sports Center grounds. This event focuses on World Refugee Day and celebrates the accomplishments of refugees and immigrants in our community. This family friendly event is free and open to the public. It features ethnic food vendors, product vendors, educational/ethnic booths, agency booth, cultural performances, and fun activities. Volunteers are needed from 8 – 11 a.m. for set up and 2-3 p.m. for break down for this event. Campaign Cabinet members develop, implement, and evaluate an inclusive campaign, strategy focused on maximizing existing resources, setting challenging goals, and cultivating new market segments. The goal of the Campaign Member is to increase the financial resources necessary to improve lives in Olmsted County and to build a solid foundation of support in our community. Immersion Youth Repertory not only allows students to learn acting and singing from professional performers and educators but also gives them hands-on experience with the technical aspects of producing a show: set design, costume design, prop design, and construction. In a supportive, and fun environment students from all experiences and socioeconomic backgrounds come together to learn, create, laugh, and perform. We are looking for furry and friendly certified/registered dogs and their handlers to visit OMC. Canine Companions strive to improve social interaction, provide companionship, and provide comforting care to hospitalized patients, guests, and family members, and to improve social interaction and camaraderie among OMC employees.
