CANNON FALLS — The Cannon Valley Fair will celebrate its 100th year when things kick off Wednesday morning at the fairgrounds in Cannon Falls.
The event began in 1915 when it drew nearly 4,000 visitors. It's since expanded to a four-day event that draws thousands, culminating with a Grande Day Parade scheduled for July 4.
The Cannon Valley Fair will officially open at 9 a.m. Wednesday. The parade on the final day will be followed by harness racing and a concert by Hitchville before a huge fireworks display concludes the historic celebration.
Lost Highway, fronted by Wanamingo native Jesse Steberg, is the headline act for Friday's concert. It's free and open to the public.
