The Americana Showcase concert series, which began and is still based in Rochester, will expand to St. Paul, starting with a concert Sunday at the James J. Hill Reference Library.
Brandon Sampson, of the band Six Mile Grove, produces the Rochester series and will serve the same function for the St. Paul version. The first St. Paul concert, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, will be accompanied by an exhibition of Clyde Butcher's classic photographs, entitled "America the Beautiful."
Sampson, Adam Levy (of the Honey Dogs), Ben Kyle (of Romantica) and Martin Zellar will perform Sunday.
The next concert in the series, on March 27, will feature Nashville singer/songwriter Sally Barris, who is a native Minnesotan. Concerts will also be held at the Hill Library on April 9, April 30 and May 16. Season tickets are $75. Individual concert tickets are $20 in advance, or $22 at the door. Tickets and information are available at www.americanashowcase.com.
The James J. Hill Reference Library is at 80 Fourth St. W., adjacent to Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul.
