Area artists, arts organization receive grants

The Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council has awarded 24 grands totaling $95,000 to area artists and arts organizations.

The grants come in three categories: Emerging Artist, Advancing Artist and General Operating Support. The grants are funded by the state Legislature.

The grant recipients:

Olmsted County:

• Eric Anderson, Jessalyn Finch, Carley McHenry and Richard Swanson, each $2,500 Emerging Artist Grant

• Ann Simerlink, $5,000 Advancing Artist Grant

• Dover-Eyota Music Association, Rochester Chamber Music Society, Zumbro Valley Chorus of Sweet Adelines, each $4,000 General Operating Grant

Goodhue County:

• Tony Cuchetti, Dawn Erickson and John Wells, each $5,000 Advancing Artist Grant

• Red Wing Art Association, $4,000 General Operating Grant

Mower County:

• Austin Symphony Orchestra, $4,000 General Operating Grant

Rice County:

• Tami Resler and Isabella Rose, each $2,500 Emerging Artist Grant

• Daniel Kallman, Linda Rossi and Michon Weeks, each $5,000 Advancing Artist Grant

• I Cantanti Chamber Choirs, $4,000 General Operating Grant

Winona County:

• Frozen River Film Festival, Mid West Music Fest, Theatre du Mississippi, Winona Symphony Orchestra, each $4,000 General Operating Grant

• Kathleen Hawkes, $5,000 Advancing Artist Grant
