Barnfest planned for Saturday in Red Wing

RED WING — The fifth annual Barnfest music festival is planned for Saturday at the Hobgoblin Music's Outdoor Amphitheater in Red Wing.

Red House Records will host the event, which is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and run into the evening. The day is touted as featuring folk, indie and roots music with nine different performers. The Minnesota Songwriter Spotlight will feature singer-songwriter Eric Peltoniemi, the record company president who has worked for four decades in the music industry.

In additional to the mature melodies created from the outdoor stage, the air conditioned barn will be hosting KIDFEST for the younger generation. Children's activities and music will be feature inside, with kiddie polls arranged outdoors.

Multiple restaurants will be serving serving food and drinks on site just off of Minnesota Highway 19 on the north side of Red Wing.

Tickets are being sold for $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Kids under 12 will be admitted free.
