Carvan du Nord plans area stops

The Minnesota Music Coalition's Caravan du Nord will open its 2014 tour in Austin.

The Sept. 26 concert at Austin's Paramount Theatre will feature John Mark Nelson. The event will be hosted by a DJ from Minnesota Public Radio's The Current. Other musicians taking part will be announced at a later date.

Caravan du Nord will also visit Red Wing for a concert Oct. 17 at the Sheldon Theatre. The headline band will be Communist Daughter.

The Caravan du Nord's 2014 tour is taking new and emerging artists to some of the state's historic theaters. A different Current DJ will host each show. There will also be workshops and networking events in conjunction with each concert. Tickets are sold through the individual venues.
