An affable goofball known as The Weasel, comedian Pauly Shore endeared himself to a generation in the 1990s by appearing on just about every MTV show and a string of screwball comedy movies.
After digitally releasing a bunch of comedy specials — "Vegas Is My Oyster," "Pauly Does Dallas," "Pauly-Tics," and "Pauly Shore is Dead" — Shore is again showing up everywhere. This time, though, it's in person as he crisscrosses the country doing stand-up.
Here's what Shore had to say about what The Weasel is up to in advance of his performance Sunday in Rochester.
What do you have planned for your Rochester appearance?
I've been doing stand-up pretty much my whole life, since I was 17. So just straight stand-up, raw. Pauly Shore raw, uncensored. I'll talk about the movies and I'll talk about the stuff people are familiar with, but as far as my stand-up goes, I'm going to dive into a lot of personal stuff and talk about my life.

Are you also working on a drama right now?
I'm developing a drama right now, like an indie drama. Also I'm going to be shooting a documentary on the road, kind of about my life when I'm on this Midwest tour.
What will the documentary show?
It's kind of like the Pauly Shore people know from "Bio-Dome," "Son In Law," MTV, Playboy Mansion, which is kind of like who I am, but that's not all of who I am. That's half of me. And there's the Pauly Shore whose parents are getting older, me and my brothers don't get along, my sisters don't get along, we're trying to have a better relationship. I don't have a wife, no kids. I'm alone. I have my fans on the road, you know what I mean. Kind of like more relatable stuff. I wouldn't say the sad side of Pauly because I'm not sad, just normal. Everyone's parents are getting older. Everyone fights with their brothers and sisters, you know what I mean.
Will fans miss The Weasel?
Oh, I still do it. It's not like I don't do it. Put it this way, people are going to have a good time. That's it. It's going to be fun. It's my personality. It will be a fun show. It's Pauly Shore they know and Pauly Shore they that don't know. It's the whole thing.
