GOODHUE — Country music acts Aaron Tippin, Joe Diffie and Sammy Kershaw will provide music for two street dances at the Goodhue Volksfest , Friday through Sunday.
Friday dance features Tippin, with Maiden Dixie and the Chad Edwards Band opening. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $15.
Saturday's dance has Diffie and Kershaw headlining, with JT and the Gunslingers and Lost Highway opening. Gates open at 5;30 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance, $35 at the gate.
Those dances are just two of the highlights of Volksfest, which includes a parade at 5 p.m. Saturday, followed by fireworks at dusk. The Miss Goodhue contest is at 7 p.m. Friday in the Goodhue High School gym. For kids, there's a bounce party Saturday at Rosie Park, a kiddie parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, and a pedal pull at 2 p.m. Saturday.
To top off the weekend, the Goodhue Lions will serve Belgian waffles from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
