NORTHFIELD — Documentary filmmaker Larkin McPhee will present a convocation address designed for aspiring filmmakers Friday at Carleton College.
McPhee's talk is ' Finding a Career and a Path as a Documentary Filmmaker." She is a Peabody Award- and Emmy Award-winning director, producer and writer of documentary films on topics ranging from personal finance with Suze Orman to nuclear power to depression.
Included in McPhee's work is "Caring for Mom & Dad," narrated by Meryl Streep, a primetime PBS special, "Dying to be Thin" and "Depresssion: Out of the Shadows," also on PBS. McPhee lives in Minneapolis.
The convocation is from 10:50 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. in Skinner Memorial Chapelon the Carleton campus. Admission is free.
