Children's Dance Theatre of Rochester will host a two-week Summer Dance Intensive Aug. 4-15, with guest instructors from major ballet companies.
The program is open to dancers up through college age, both male and female. The guest instructors are W. Earle Smith, artistic director of Madison Ballet; Marguerite Luksik, company member of Madison Ballet; Reinhard von Rabenau and Suzie Baer, both company members of Minnesota Ballet; and Daniel Blake, director of Ballet Blake.
Dance topics covered will include classical ballet technique, conditioning, pointe, pas de deux, theatrical jazz and contemporary. There is a special men's athletic dance session for ages 10 to 20.
Sessions will be held at J.E.T.S. Gymnastics, 2440 Clare Lane N.E., Rochester.
