Melodrama season opens in Mantorville

MANTORVILLE — The 44th season of melodramas in Mantorville opens Friday with "Jack Eagle: A Real American Hero, or Eagles May Sore, But Veisels Never Fall From the Sky."

The show, written and directed by Denise Ruemping, follows the adventures of Jack Eagle as he arrives in a small Midwestern town on a personal appearance tour. Will he live up to his reputation and save the day?

In the cast are Mikala Metzger, Jack Harrington, Andrew Arndt, Ian Gill and Anastacia Bolkwadze, with musical accompaniment by Alicia Frarck.

Newcomers should be advised that audiences are expected to cheer, boo and hiss during Mantorville Melodrama productions.

The melodramas are produced by the Mantorville Theatre Company . Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through July 3 at the Mantorville Opera House.
