Pops concert features debut of new chorale

The music of Broadway shows will be featured when the Rochester Pops Orchestra and Chorale closes its third season with a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Century High School auditorium, 2525 Viola Road NE.

This "Back to Broadway" concert is the debut appearance by the new 50-voice chorale.

The program includes selections from "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Mamma Mia," "The Music Man," "Guys and Dolls," "Cats," "Showboat" and "The Secret Garden." The songs from these shows represent some of the best and most popular music ever written for the stage.

The Rochester Pops Orchestra is directed by its founder, Brock Besse.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $5 for ages 13-18 and free for ages 12 and younger, available online at rochesterpops.com, and by phone at 507-318-0801.
