Gallery 24's exhibit of Beth Sievers' encaustic art at Forager Brewing Co. closes Friday.

The art is made with pigmented hot bees wax on canvas, reclaimed wood, and other found surfaces. The wax is applied while hot and malleable. It hardens when cooled but then, as it cures, can withstand and keep its texture at well over 100 degrees.

The wax creates a three-dimensional form that almost dares a viewer to touch it.

Find out more about Sievers' art and her upcoming shows on Facebook or find her profile at mnartists.org.
