Shelby's new role is as Mark Twain

FARIBAULT — Don Shelby, retired news anchor from WCCO-TV, will portray America's most famous author when he presents "An Evening with Mark Twain"at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at Newhall Auditorium, Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Faribault.

Shelby first appeared as Twain — complete with white suit, white hair, droopy mustache and long cigar — in the choral group VocalEssencepresentation of "River Songs."This year, he's back with a full-length Twain show, recreating Twain's lectures, which included readings from his books, tall stories and homespun humor.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $12 for students, and can be reserved at 507-333-1620.
