Minnesota Public Radio's Caravan du Nord takes over Red Wing's Sheldon Theatre Oct. 17 for a concert, workshops and social hour.
The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. with students from the Universal Music Center,followed at 7 p.m. by Bomba de Luzand at 8 p.m. by Communist Daughter.
Concert tickets are $14.50 and $9.50 in advance, $17.50 and $12.50 the day of the show, available from the Sheldon at 651-388-8700.
Two free music workshops will be held in the afternoon at the Sheldon:
— "How to Become a Buzz Band,"with Bomba de Luz, DJ Mac Wilson, from MPR's The Current, and other industry professionals will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

— "Rock and Recovery,"a conversation with Communist Daughter's Johnny Solomon about how getting sober changed his music, will be held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The free social hour will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Sheldon lobby; open to all ages.
