Wine and art festival Blossoms

CANNON FALLS — The Minneapolis-based country band The Cactus Blossoms will headline the Cannon Falls Wine & Art Festival this weekend.

The Cactus Blossoms, recipient of City Pages 2012 awards for best country band and best album of the year, will perform from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Also performing on Saturday will be Trinichad from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Glider with Dave Hagedorn, a jazz trio, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Mark Stillman, an accordionist who specializes in folk music of many cultures, will perform from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The festival, which also features about 50 art vendors and 12 Minnesota wineries, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Hannah's Bend Park along North Eighth Street in Cannon Falls.

For the first time this year, fest-goers will be able to bring home bottles of Minnesota-made wine thanks to new legislation allowing sales of bottled wine at festivals. The Cannon Falls festival is the first in the state to take advantage of the new law, said Keith Smiley, festival chairman.
