Annie Lawler to play at benefit

Annie Lawler and Wheel House will play Nov. 5 at a benefit for the Myocarditis Foundation at Rochester Golf and Country Club.

Besides live music for listening and dancing, the event will include hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and a silent auction. Lawler and her band play roots-oriented rock and country, and have been fixtures at Rochester events such as Rochesterfest and Thursdays on First and Third.

Myocarditis is an inflammatory heart disease that often attacks young, healthy people. The Myocarditis Foundation, based in New Jersey, raises funding for research and education regarding the disease. Dr. Leslie Cooper, of Mayo Clinic, chairman of the board of directors of the foundation, is hosting the benefit.

Hours are 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $40, and can be reserved by phone at (732) 295-3700, or by e-mail at candace@myocarditisfoundation.org . Reservations would be appreciated by Monday, but tickets are also available at the door.
