A benefit for a Mayo Clinic employee battling multiple myeloma will be held Sunday at Rookie's Sports Grill, 1517 16th St. S.W., Rochester.
Eve Friedli was diagnosed in February 2003 and has since undergone three stem cell transplants with numerous complications and lengthy hospital stays.
During that time, she has worked full time, has attended school to complete an accounting degree, created a monthly support group for Rochester myeloma patients, and founded the Multiple Myeloma Charitable Foundation, which sponsors a 5K run/walk each year and has to date raised $60,000 for blood disease research.
Now the family and friends of Friedli want to help her pay for her own extensive medical bills and expenses. The benefit will be held from noon to 7 p.m. and has activities for the entire family, including raffles, games, bake sale and music by Push & Turn. All food and beverage proceeds are to be donated. Items for the raffle and bake sale can be donated by contacting Janet Swanson, (507) 358-5100.
In addition, contributions can be made to the Eve Friedli Fund at Wells Fargo Bank, 4425 Norwood Lane N., Plymouth, MN 55442.
