Almost as synonymous with Valentine's Day as flowers and chocolates is Choral Arts Ensemble 's annual benefit event, A Singing Valentine.
The formal event featuring fine dining, unique auction items and a concert of love songs, takes place Feb. 12 at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Rochester.
Funds raised support the work of Choral Arts Ensemble in musical programming of all kinds, including regular season concerts, outreach programs, commissioning of new works.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a reception and silent auction followed by dinner, a live auction and a concert of love songs performed by Choral Arts Ensemble.
Select auction items will be available to bid on in silent and live settings. Items include everything from Waterford crystal lamps to hosted dinners to sailing on Lake Pepin and a weekend in Chicago. There will also be a raffle, with the winner receiving either a $1,000 airline voucher or $1,000 cash.

For the evening's concert, the ensemble will be joined by Laurie Priniski on piano, Terry Gresser on percussion and Robert Gardner on bass for performances of love songs by Cole Porter, the Gershwins, Duke Ellington, Rascal Flatts, the BeeGees and others.
