Dance spoof hits Paramount
James Sewell Ballet brings serious dance, in the form of a spoof, to Austin's Paramount Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 19.
"Le Dance Off," a take-off on the celebrity competitive dance craze, has been presented on tour in the Midwest this season. The production examines the intersection of art and commercialism.
James Sewell Ballet was founded by James Sewell in New York City but has been based in Minnesota since 1993. In addition to its own repertoire , the company has developed works in conjunction with the Guthrie Theater and Minnesota Orchestra.
