Free concerts on tap Sunday

Three free concerts Sunday in Rochester will tempt folks indoors on a spring afternoon.

• Rochester Male Chorus will perform at 3 p.m at Rochester Covenant Church, 4950 31st Ave. N.W. The concert will feature guest artist Carla Thelen Hanson performing a duet with chorus member Mark Neville. Admission is free; a free-will donation will be accepted for Channel One Food Shelf.

• The Mayo Clinic Chamber Symphony will perform at 4 p.m. in Nathan Landow Auditorium of Mayo Clinic's Gonda Building. Selections include Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Schubert's Symphony No. 2. Guest pianist is Megan Wallace.

• Organist Tom Trenney, from Rochester, N.Y., performs in a Festival of Music concert at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 512 Third St. S.W. Trenney, who holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Eastman School of Music, is music director at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Rochester, N.Y. He was named by the Minnesota Public Radio program "Pipedreams" as a rising star on the organ. A free-will offering will be accepted. A dessert reception follows the concert.
