The Honors Choirs concert "Voices: Honoring Black History Month in Song," originally scheduled for Feb. 20, has been rescheduled.
The concert, which was postponed due to the weather, will be heard at 4 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 Third Ave. S.E. in Rochester.
All five of the Honors Choirs of Southeast Minnesota youth choirs, grades 3 through 12, will perform. The program includes spirituals, gospel, and jazz as well as African music. Songs include "Every Time I Feel the Spirit," "Wade in the Water," "The Battle of Jericho," and "Don’t Get Around Much Anymore."
All 260 singers will join together to sing what became the anthem for the Civil Rights movement, "We Shall Overcome."
