Improvisation on the menu

Esther Wang, on piano, and David Carter, on cello, will be featured at the next Lunch & Learn session Oct. 21, at the Rochester Art Center, 40 Civic Center Drive S.E.

The program, "Improvisation Past and Present," looks at classical improvisation techniques and the styles of past and present composers. The artists will demonstrate by playing several pieces that are improvisational in nature.

Lunch & Learn is sponsored by the Rochester Music Guild. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m. with the program from noon to 1 p.m. Brown bags are welcome. To reserve a catered lunch, call Pamela Haase, at (507) 398-7310 by noon Wednesday.
