McCutcheon comes to Crossings

ZUMBROTA — Singer/songwriter John McCutcheon, a multiple Grammy Award nominee, will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at Crossings at Carnegie , 320 East Ave., Zumbrota.

McCutcheon is a Wisconsin native who graduated from Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn. Soon after college he set off for the hills of Appalachia, where he learned traditional folk songs from the musicians of the region.

Since then, McCutcheon has recorded over 30 albums, including several for children. His records for young people have won Parents Choice and American Library Association awards. His songs for adults, meanwhile, continue to reflect his interests in social justice issues.
