The Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra will open its 31st season this weekend with "A Concert Dedicated to Healing."
The concerts are at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Savior in Faribault, and at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 500 Third St. W. in Northfield.
The concerts are presented in collaboration with Northfield Hospital and its centennial celebration. The music has been chosen for its uplifting and soothing qualities. The program includes selections by Beethoven, Vivaldi, R. Vaughn Williams and Brahms. The orchestra is conducted by Paul Niemisto.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, available at the door or through the Northfield Arts Guild at (507) 645-8877.
