About two dozen students performed with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra on Saturday during the Playing with the Pros concerto preparatory experience at the Hill Theatre at RCTC.
The daylong workshop was designed to help the students, members of the Southeastern Minnesota Suzuki Association, learn to play a concerto, accompanied by the orchestra and led by Jere Lantz, the orchestra's conductor.
The workshop was a continuation of the orchestra's outreach efforts to young musicians.

The "Playing with the Pros" session was actually proposed by the Suzuki Association, Lantz said, and the orchestra was happy to participate.
"Play with the Pros" is funded by a $10,000 Minnesota Legacy Fund grant.
